Cessna Skylane 182Q
First year integral fuel tanks (88 gal
usable fuel)
N97319 is a rare plane in the market
today - a two owner spectacularly corrosion free plane that has always
been under cover and based in the non-coastal western US. This
plane has been based for the last couple decades at the Longmont,
Colorado airport in a private hangar.
The early history of this plane was at the North Las Vegas airport,
where it was in the ports out of the strong Las Vegas sun. The glass
is original except the windsheild and in very good condition. The
interior is original and is as good as could possibly be expected
from a plane of this age.
Open up a few inspection
plates in the wing and see bright shiny sheet metal (see pictures
below). No damage
history - ever.
The S-Tec 60-2 is as good an autopilot you will typically find in a
Skylane, and does heading bug, nav/localizer tracking, altitude hold
and glideslope intercept and is coupled to a Century HSI. The
radios have been nicely updated to keep up with the times.
At overhaul time the original engine was overhauled by Western
Skyways. This engine does have life left in it. The oil
pressure does not go way low when the oil is hot and the compressions
are good .
The logbooks are complete, there is no damage history, the
airframe is exceptionally straight with no hail damage, and this plane
is as good
as they get with regard to corrosion. As Cessnas of this vintage age,
corrosion
is becoming a bigger and bigger issue. This plane will never be a
corrosion problem if it stays inside in a tight, dry hangar.
