The
182 E and F models are the first
of the "wide body" Skylanes, the first with a rear window looking out
toward the tail. Prior to these models, cabin width was similar
to a 172, quite a tight fit in the shoulders for a few big guys up
front.
This
plane has a grandfathered jump door with
a field approval, as well as the stock door. Both are painted to
match the current scheme. There is also a camera hole that could
provide some revenue for the next owner.
N9371X was formerly a part 135 maintained plane, and was used as a
chase plane shuttling parts and people to support larger
aircraft. Unlike most part 135 planes this was a well loved plane
that also got the extra maintenance required for part 135, including
mandatory service bulletin compliance (which is neither mandatory nor
common in normal "part 91" maintenance) in addition to the
Airworthiness Directives.
This Skylane is just got done with an annual inspection on May 8, 2012
and both bladders were just replaced with new!
This Skylane is not located at the Longmont Vance Brand Airport, so
please call to set up a viewing.
