Aerostar airframe #648 is a mid-production year 1979 model Piper Aerostar 601P, awarded its airworthiness certificate on May 30, 1979 after 7.1 hours of test flying.  This plane immediately was placed on the Venezuelan registry as YV-333P.  This Aerostar came back onto the US register as N8244J once again on 4/29/1982 with 328 hours total time.  Most of the maintenance entries while this Aerostar was on the Venezuelan registry were Florida shops.  The recent owners have maintained this plane with Aerostar speialists The Flight Shop in Brigham City Utah.

The intercooled 601P is valued for its efficiency and versatility, with a max cruise in the high 220's ktas at 19 gph per engine, or a max endurance along the lines of 200 ktas with a total burn of 25 gph.  For those who prefer lean of peak operation, the 601P typically is able to deliver 216 ktas at 14.5 gph per engine.

This highly upgraded Aerostar is well maintained and flown regularly.  The autopilot functions beatifully, with GPS steering this plane is ready to do ILS and GPS approaches in low weather.  This Aerostar is fully deiced, with alcohol windshield and hot props.  Air-conditioning has been upgraded to engine driven and R-134A refrigerant. 

This plane has complete logs since new with no known damage history.

This Aerostar will be soon relocated to the Denver area for the purpose of sale, and can be seen by appointment only.  Insurance endorsed transition training and delivery are available.  Please don't hesistate to inquire with regard to upgrades or customization requests.

Paint and Interior:
Paint was done in 2005 at Mena Aircraft Paint. Paint is done with base Matterhorn White with Squadron Blue, Outer Space, and Gamma Gray accents. Paint is in good condition with a few areas where paint has separated from the primer on the nose of the plane.  Paint is still glossy with light wear in the high traffic areas

Interior was done in 2005 by Blair Air Interiors.  Seats are done with Douglass cold grey leather. Headliner is Douglass Columbia Glacier.  Fabric accent is  GBS City Street Curb.  Carpet is Avalon Dove Chelsea. Seat belts all redone with Southern Safety Silver. Curtains are done in GBS techstretch 1111 Light Grey.
