SOLD - 1970 Piper Comanche 260C - SOLD

N27BR is one of the last single engine Comanche's built, the series having been ended by flooding at the Pennsylvania factory in the early 1970's.  The Comanche 260C with the shark nose has a cult following, and is widely regarded as one of the best retractable singles ever built and the best all around example of the Comanche singles.  Exceptional styling and a good balance of power, economics and efficiency make this plane very popular among its pilots.

N27BR makes an excellent cross-country platform, with good speed and range and a Garmin GTN-650 Touchscreen GPS/Map/Nav/Com.  Long range fuel  and the JPI fuel management system take the stress out of max range flights. The Century IIB autopilot has been recently overhauled and has a heading bug and nav couplers.

Economical performance is what this Comanche does well:   Recently I flew this plane on a cross country - 12,500 feet at 47 deg F, 2400 RPM, 185-190 MPH true airspeed at 12gph! This is a very nice flying plane with the Autopilot coupled to the HSI and Garmin GTN-650 GPS.

Please don't hesitate to call us at (303) 503-8356 with further questions regarding N27BR, insurance, finance options, upgrades or transition training. This plane is based here in Colorado, and can be viewed by appointment.

Paint & Interior

This Comanche was painted 9/4/1980 in Imron, base Yellow #76556U, with Brown #44444U and Tan #96939U accent colors.  The condition of this 36 year old paint says much about the way this Comanche has been cared for.  This paint, although dated, is in very good condition.

Interior was just redone in beige ultra-leather and fabric including new carpet, refurbished side panels and newly fabricated headliner. Interior plastic replaced with new parts from Plane Plastics.
