By the
time Cessna rolled out the 1964 G-model the Skylane had been widened
and restyled to the same basic fuselage
that is still in production today. The 1966 J model has the new
pointy prop spinner, a factory 1-piece windshield, and redesigned yokes
and pedals.
N2707F started its life in Virginia, having two owners there before moving to western Illinois / Eastern Iowa. In the early 1980's N2707F made its way to Colorado, where it has been based since. This plane, like many based in the area, has seen some hail in its lifetime. The hail is apparent on the top surfaces of the plane, light dings but fairly closely spaced. There was what appears to be a bird strike repair on one wing in the 1990's, with one skin having been replaced by Beegles Aircraft, a nationally well known airframe repair shop. This plane is based based at the Longmont Airport (KLMO) and is available for inspection by appointment. |

Paint and Interior
Paint was done
in 1996 by Flying Colors, Longmont Colorado. The paint was fully
stripped and redone with a Jet-glo base Matterhorn white with
Acry-glo accents in Concorde Blue Metallic and Las Vegas Gold.
Flight controls were all checked for balance. Paint has been
recently touched-up (with the original paint) from the bottom of the
stripes over the top of the fuselage to the bottom of the stripes on
the other side due to clear-coat problems. Wingtips were reshot
at that time as well. Nosewheel fairing just touched up. The tops of
the wings have lost some gloss at this point. There are chips on
the struts.
Interior was just redone in gray tones, with new shoulder harness kit and seat belts. Interior shows very little wear since it was refurbished. |
