5/10/17: Pictures on Floats

N2530C was born a 1954 Cessna 170B on Jan 12, 1954 after a 1.15 hour test flight in Wichita.  She was then delivered to California to the original owner, John R. Wallace of Redondo Beach, California.  In June of 1962 N2530C appears to have been sold to an airline pilot, James Hooker Hamersly of Tuxedo Park NY.   July of 1962 found N2530C being repaired from apparent ground loop damage, repairs having been made to propeller spinner and bulkhead, gearbox, and right wing-tip.

There are some entries in the 1960's showing maintenance done in Palm Beach, Florida, apparently with the second owner of 30C.

N2530C appears to have been disassembled and stored from the 1974 to 2003, when she received an overhauled engine, paint and interior, and appears to have been on floats for several years up in Maine.  The pictures below where N2530C appears on floats are from that time period where she was in Maine.  Pictures that I have viewed of the plane previous to 2003 appear to show the plane having original paint to that point.

Please don't hesitate to call us at (303) 503-8356 with further questions regarding N2530C, insurance, finance options, upgrades or transition training. This plane is based in the vicintity of Longmont Airport and can be viewed by appointment.

Paint & Interior

Paint was done with DuPont Imron in 2003, and is in good condition.  Accent color is red, and typical of red paint is fading.  White base is complete with a few areas on the trailing edges of flight controls that could be touched up or stripped and re-shot.  There are several isolated spots of filliform corrosion that will need to be cleaned up and retouched.  All glass is recent and in very good condition.  There are some fuel stains behind the fuel caps.  There are a few dings on top of the wing, likely from the time when the plane was disassembled and stored. There is a ding in the left upper leading edge of the cowl.

Interior seats and side panels have been done recently with what appears to be Airtex coverings. Rear seats (not pictured) have matching cover and are included.  Carpet appears to be older than the seats and side panels and the front carpet shows sun fading.
