N235T is a 1953 Piper Super Cub with an upgraded O-320 Lycoming 150hp
engine. This plane was originally an Air Force trainer.
N235T is one of several hundred "Tango Cubs" that were ordered by the
Air Force in the early 1950's. They are called Tango Cubs because they used a
block of N-Numbers from N100T to N34?T, sequentially serial
numbered. These cubs were based on the 1950 PA-18-105, were
designated PA-18-105SP, and were equipped with toe-brakes, parachute
seats and an O-235 engine. At Hondo Air Force Base, this plane
was active with the 3304th Pilot Training Squadron, where eventually the Cubs
were replaced with T-34's and T-28's in 1955. Most of the Tango Cubs went on to find new
homes across the country with the Civil Air Patrol.

N235T was flipped onto its back in the
late 1950's and put into storage. The
current owner bought it as a project from the famous JW Duff (a
personal friend of his) at Stapleton International Airport
Denver. Duff bought it at auction from the CAP. The current owner
restored the plane in the early 1980's and has owned it ever
since. Nearly all of this Cub's history since is in the same dry
Longmont Colorado hangar.
The original O-235 engine was swapped for a Lycoming O-320 (STC'd
installation) from a 1970 Super Cub.
Compressions on the engine are fantastic. The last annual was
done 9/2021. Included with the plane as priced will be a spare boot
cowl, nose-bowl and airbox
(not for sale individually).
This plane is based in the Denver area, and can
