This low time Aerostar 602P is one of the last produced - production unit number 4 of a total of 21 produced in 1983.  This plane is airframe 974 of the 1016 Aerostars of all models built. There are only 17 Aerostars produced after N135JH that are eligible for the latest gross weight increase modification. Of those 17, at least three are no longer operational.i

The Aerostar 602P was a big improvement on the turbo-normalized 601P, even though both are technically rated at 290hp.  The single engine service ceiling goes from 8,800 ft on the 601P to 12,900 ft on the 602P.  Intercoolers improve the power output even further, getting the 602P very close to the Superstar / 700P engine out service ceiling of 14,500 ft.

The 602P is also much more inexpensively converted to a full Superstar 700, especially once already intercooled and equipped with the low speed flight control enhancement kit (VG's) and low-noise signature prop blades.

This Aerostar is based at the Longmont Airport (KLMO) in Colorado, and can be seen by appointment only.  Insurance endorsed transition training and delivery are available.  Please don't hesitate to inquire with regard to upgrades or customization requests on this plane or with general Aerostar questions.

This plane has the original stainless exhaust with crossover elimination modification, which is preferable over the inconel front exhaust with its costly and frequent slip joint maintenance required.

Paint and Interior:
Paint was done in 1988 in a Machen scheme with base white matterhorn-white Alumigrip over Imron dark-blue, red, medium-blue and light-blue accents.  Paint is in decent condition for its age with typical Aerostar wear spots showing its age.




Interior is all original and in very good condition for its age.  full seven seat interior with rear bench seat with 3 seat belts, right middle-row seat swivels to utilize writing table, and front seats have pneumatic vertical adjustment with recent new actuators.
